Flexible Training Opportunities
Flexible Training Opportunities gives Scottish businesses with up to 100 employees the opportunity to apply for up to £5,000 towards employee training costs.
Funding is available for up to 10 employees per business and the money is not a loan so the employer does not have to pay it back. Skills Development Scotland will refund up to 50% of each episode of employee training up to a maximum of £500 for each training episode.
Individual Learning Accounts (ILA)
ILA Scotland is a Scottish Government scheme which offers up to £200 towards the cost of learning. To be eligible you must be 16 or over and living in Scotland, with an income of less than £22,000 a year. ILA’s are also applicable to those who are claiming benefits.
Employer Recruitment Incentive (ERI)
The Scottish Government's Employer Recruitment Incentive (ERI) is designed to encourage businesses to recruit by offering a cash incentive. Employer Recruitment Incentive payments of up to £1,500 are available to employers who recruit a targeted young person (TYP) as a Modern Apprentice or into employment of 15 hours or more per week.
Adopt an Apprentice
Adopt an Apprentice is a scheme which helps Modern Apprentices continue with their training in a new workplace after being made redundant by another employer. Not only will your business benefit from a skilled trainee, but you could also receive a £2,000 incentive to help cover wage and recruitment costs. Please note that if the Modern Apprentice has been made redundant from the Oil & Gas sector, the incentive available has now increased to £5,000.
Part-time Fee Grant
The Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS) provides financial support towards the cost of tuition fees on Higher Education courses.
