Automotive Maintenance & Repair Principles
SCQF Level 5
This course is aimed at those who want to work in the maintenance and repair of motor vehicles.
Why take this course?
This course follows the Level 1 course, and is aimed at those who want to strengthen their skill set and pursue a career in the maintenance and repair of motor vehicles.
What you will experience
You will build on your existing knowledge and understanding of automotive systems, and perfect your practical skills through hands-on work in vehicle service and repair. The course places a detailed focus on engine work, suspension, brakes, steering, transmission, electrics, valeting and servicing.
You will also study health and safety in the working environment and interpersonal aspects of the industry, such as working relationships.
Applicants should have a National 4, Intermediate 1 or Standard Grade Credit/General level qualification in Maths, English or a technical subject. An interest in motor vehicles would be an advantage.
Please note that applicants must be 16 or over.
