Why take this course?

This course is designed to introduce you to the basic mathematic and electrical principles required in electrical engineering. This will ensure you are well-equipped to progress to the HNC Engineering: Electrical course, and in a strong position to pursue a future career at management or supervisory level. It provides you with the opportunity to enhance your existing skills by combining theory and practice to achieve a real understanding of electrical engineering subjects.

What you will experience

On this core you will explore key areas of electrical engineering, including:

Electrical Principles:
This part of the course takes you from exploring Ohm's Law up to the study of basic single and three phase principles, which underpin a lot of the knowledge required for the HNC.

Mathematics:
This part of the course starts you at very basic level - from an understanding of your calculator up to being able to use complex numbers to add phasors.
