Why take this course?
This course will provide you with a strong, underpinning knowledge when it comes to industrial measurement and control. You will develop a keen understanding of the systems, processes and instruments used whilst building valuable, hands-on skills for progression to further study at HNC/HND level and future work in a range of sectors.
What you will experience
You will focus on various process control systems and electrical principles, whilst studying key aspects of measurement and control such as flow, maintaining/monitoring level and pressure, signal conditioning and the use of Programmable Logic Controllers. You will also gain a good understanding of the use of mathematics and IT in the industry.
Applicants should have an NC qualification at SCQF Level 5 and preferably Maths Craft 2 units. Alternatively, applicants should have National 5 Maths at grade A or B; Standard Grade Maths at Credit level; or Intermediate 2 Maths (including units 1, 2 and 3).
Other qualifications and experience may also be taken into account, but all applicants should show an interest in and aptitude for the subject.
