School College Links Programme
The College's School Links Programme gives you the opportunity to achieve national qualifications that are valued by employers whilst continuing to study school based courses. Through participation in any of the courses offered through this programme you will develop essential skills for employment and be better prepared for the career pathway of your choice. Courses are completed within the Academic Year whilst you are still at school, and are available across a wide range of interesting and exciting subject areas.
The College Experience
The College Experience has been designed to provide you with the opportunity to attend a short course at a nearby campus. The main aim of this taster programme is to help you plan your future educational path, try out a subject area that interests you and to help you consider College courses you might consider applying for after leaving school.
Foundation Apprenticeships are a new programme offered in partnership with industry, combining contextualised work-based learning and classroom-based learning. The programmes have been designed to meet the needs of young people whilst being responsive to the needs of the regional labour market.
Starting in S4 or S5, the hands-on experiences available will lead to an industry-recognised qualification at SCQF Level 6 (the same level as a Higher). The reason for providing a vocational experience at this point in the pupil’s school career is to help make the transition from school into employment or into further or higher education. As such, a range of progression opportunities are available to young people completing the Foundation Apprenticeship programme.
