This course will introduce you to fundamental aspects of leisure, health and wellbeing.
Why take this course?
This course is aimed at those who are interested in working in the sport and fitness industry, and will provide you with a good understanding of leisure, health and wellbeing. Throughout the course you will be given the opportunity to build a wide range of vocational skills whilst boosting your confidence and enhancing your practical performance.
What you will experience
On this course you will study personal fitness and wellbeing, sports performance and how to deal with accidents and emergencies. You will take part in a wide variety of practical work, where you will develop your skills in sports such as indoor football, table tennis, badminton and volleyball.
The course consists of two group awards: Intermediate 1 Skills for Work: Sport and Recreation and a National Progression Award (NPA) in Sporting Events: Personal Best. In addition you will also undertake a Sports Leadership qualification from Sports Leaders UK.
This course is suitable for those with National 4, Intermediate 1 or Standard Grade Foundation/General level qualifications.
For those returning to education, life skills and experience in the workplace may allow entry subject to availability.

You cannot progress directly to university from this course, but after completion of a HND that would become an option.
