HND Travel & Tourism

“I really enjoyed the course and College life in general. My lecturers were all very supportive, they really listen to you and were always on hand to provide additional help if needed.”

Hannah Stenhouse (21) was fortunate enough to travel extensively throughout her childhood which sparked an interest in the tourism industry.

After leaving Kemnay Academy, she embarked on a one year NC Travel and Tourism course at NESCol’s City Campus before progressing to the HND.

Hannah said: “I really enjoyed the course and College life in general. My lecturers were all very supportive, they really listen to you and were always on hand to provide additional help if needed. Part of my course took place during the pandemic so having to adapt to home learning was a challenge but the lecturers were great and provided extra materials to help me understand different topics.”

One of the highlights of the course for Hannah was the opportunity to participate in class excursions. She explained: “The trips helped me develop friendships with my peers as well as getting the opportunity to see new places. I particularly enjoyed our visit to Edinburgh.”

Hannah is now employed with travel management company QA Travel, which works across a wide range of industry sectors. She is currently working within an administration role and feels her HND was beneficial to securing the job. She hopes to progress within the company, using the knowledge and skills gained at NESCol while developing new ones along the way.
