Queen Margaret University is a purpose-built campus which opened in late 2007. The campus is situated to the east of Edinburgh, by Musselburgh, with Edinburgh city centre fewer than six minutes by train. Transport links to the campus are excellent, with Musselburgh train station right on the doorstep and frequent bus services straight into campus.
QMU has just over 5000 students, making them one of the smallest Universities in Scotland. The University prides itself on its friendly and supportive learning environment. QMU also has 800 study bedrooms, each of which form part of a self contained flat with en-suite facilities.
Queen Margaret University welcomes applications from College leavers and mature students studying Access programmes and Higher National Certificates and Diplomas (HNC/D) at College. Each year over 30% of their entrants are over the age of 21, and 25% have gained direct entry onto the second or third year of one of their courses.
The university provides ongoing support prior to applying, during the application process, after you have been made an offer, and after you have started studying. They university can provide you with advice on entry requirements, the application process and student finance, as well as provide you with opportunities to visit the campus so you can find out more about studying at QMU.
Articulation agreements have been set up alongside North East Scotland College to enable students to progress into various degree programmes following their HNC/D qualification. This normally involves progression into year 2 or year 3 of a compatible degree.
