- Level 2 VRQ Hairdressing (or equivalent qualification) – Hairdressing
Or
- Employment in the hairdressing industry.
This course is suited to those who want to become a professional hairdresser or enhance their hairdressing skillset. You’ll develop your understanding and skills in client consultation, styling, dressing, cutting, colouring and lightening.
There is also a focus on specialist areas such as bridal hairstyling, colour correction and creative hairdressing design skills.
As well as getting the opportunity for commercial experience in a local salon, you’ll learn about the selling and promotion of products and services and the importance of health and safety.
You will learn in a realistic work environment, which provides preparation for work placement and excellent salon experience for progression to employment.

If you are studying a full-time advanced course (HNC, HND or above), you may be entitled to funding.

This course is a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) programme. This means that you are required to have access to your own laptop computer, netbook or similar device in class each day that you are in college.
This may be funded or part-funded by a bursary, if you are eligible to receive one.
