African energy industry specialists gain training insight at NESCol
June 7, 2022
Training and skills development were the hot topics as NESCol welcomed international delegates to its Aberdeen Altens Campus.
Organised by the Scottish Africa Business Association, the tour of the facilities was part of a wide ranging programme of site visits for representatives of INP Mozambique.
Technical and vocational training, particularly in relation to the energy sector, were among the discussion points for the group from the country’s national petroleum institute.
Cameron Walker, NESCol’s Head of Sector for Computing and Engineering Technology, hosted the visit. He said: “The College’s role in energy transition and the evolution of the sector will be vital not only for the North East but for the industry globally. It was a very positive session and a chance to discuss the future of training in the sector.”
Duncan Abernethy, NESCol’s Director of Business Development, added: “Building skills and knowledge will be essential to driving positive change and we were delighted to provide an insight into our work in that area for the visiting delegation. We look forward to continuing those conversations as part of NESCol’s commitment to collaboration regionally, nationally and internationally.”
