Art and design students take centre stage in virtual exhibition

Aberdeen Arts Centre is rolling out the virtual welcome mat as host for an online exhibition showcasing the work of North East Scotland College art and design students.

The digital show, which will open on Friday (3 June) and runs until 17 June at www.aberdeenartscentre.com, will feature pieces from HND students who are completing their studies at the College.

David Downie, Lecturer in Art and Design at NESCol, said: “The opportunity for our graduates to have an external exhibition this early in their career is fantastic.

“We worked with Aberdeen Arts Centre last year, when virtual exhibitions were a necessity, and the response was fantastic. We are delighted to be partnering for another virtual exhibition and to be able to celebrate the work of our students with audiences from near and far.”

The NESCol exhibition is part of packed June programme at Aberdeen Arts Centre which includes shows and workshops.

Arts Centre Manager Stephanie Walls said: “We’re delighted to be hosting this virtual exhibition for a second year. It’s a wonderful opportunity for students to display their work to people all around the world with just a few clicks and together we can help celebrate the extraordinary talent here in Aberdeen.”
