College update: Planning for the return to activity on campus
January 7, 2022
NESCol continues to liaise closely with the Scottish Government and NHS in response to the high Coronavirus case numbers being recorded nationally and regionally.
As communicated prior to the festive break, the College will continue to work online during the week commencing 10 January. Students timetabled to attend campus you should instead work from home throughout next week (10-14 January). There will be a small number of exceptions and individuals will have been informed directly if they are required to be on campus.
On campus activity is expected to resume on 17 January, with attendance carefully managed to limit numbers and ensure the measures in place to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of the College community remain effective.
The College’s plans will be confirmed following the Scottish Government review scheduled for Tuesday (11 January). A further update will be provided to students and staff by email and other communication channels on Wednesday (12 January).
Vaccination remains the most important protection available. Information on the booster programme and access to vaccination appointments is available here.
Testing is also vital. Students and staff should carry out a lateral flow test prior to attending any College facilities. Students returning to term-time accommodation should also test immediately before travelling from home.
This is in addition to the general advice for everyone to test twice a week and before meeting people from other households.
The latest information on Scottish Government requirements for testing and self-isolation, as well as access to lateral flow kits, is available here.
