Why take this course?

This programme is for adult learners who have been out of education for some time and would like to pursue a career in adult, mental health or children and young people nursing.

You may be considering a change of career or have worked in a support worker role and now wish to gain qualifications and study nursing.

It is an excellent opportunity for those with few or no formal qualifications to progress to higher education.

Please note: this course does not formally provide access to degree courses in midwifery.

SWAP Access Courses

Scottish Wider Access Programme (SWAP) courses are primarily intended for adults aiming to enter higher education for the first time, or returning to education after a significant gap.
