This course will provide you with the basic skills needed for simple curtain and cushion making, including how to accurately measure and estimate fabrics, plan projects and how to approach a range of decorative techniques - perfect for anyone with an interest in creating their own soft furnishings at home.

  • How to take accurate measurements
  • How to calculate fabric quantities
  • How to cut and sew lining or main fabrics
  • How to cut, fit and join piping

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, although some sewing experience would be an advantage.

Learners will be required to bring their own fabric items, to be advised by the tutor at induction.
