Computing: Technical Support with Cyber Security

This course will allow you to focus on desktop support and network technology in IT, and will provide you with the technical abilities to succeed in a computing support role.

This course will support you in developing skills in desktop support and network technologies – essential for a career in a computing support role.
A National Progression Award (NPA) in Cyber Security is embedded into the programme focusing on data security, data forensics and ethical hacking.
What you will experience
You will learn about installing and maintaining computer software and hardware, as well as computer systems architecture.
You will focus on troubleshooting and securing IT systems, investigate techniques that hackers use to penetrate networked systems and understand how to obtain forensic evidence when cyber-crimes are committed.
Applicants should have successfully completed the introductory level course, or have two relevant qualifications at National 5 Grade B (including Computer Science).
An interest in computer hardware and maintenance and trouble-shooting technical problems is also important.
