Why take this course?

This Unit is designed to provide candidates with the knowledge and skills for further study or employment in an administrative or IT environment. It is an optional Unit within HNC/HND Administration and Information Technology or HNC Accounting course, but is also included within other HN Group Awards and can be taken as a stand-alone Unit. What you will experience

You will learn about basic economic problems, and how the consumer and other economic agents can address these problems. You will also learn about the operation of markets and what can be done to help avoid market failure, as well as national income and its importance in government policy and the Keynesian model of the circular flow of income. The unit has three outcomes of learning, introducing you to:

  • The allocation of resources within the economy
  • National income and its importance
  • The role of government policy in the UK market

In order to complete this unit successfully, you will be required to achieve a satisfactory level of performance in all three pieces of assessed work.
