English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Intermediate Broadly comparable to SCQF Level 5
For speakers of other languages who want to strengthen their command of the English language in Aberdeen and the surrounding area.
Why take this course?
This intermediate course is aimed at speakers of other languages settled in Aberdeen and the surrounding area who want to further enhance their English language capabilities to pursue higher levels of study or employment.
Full-time ESOL courses are offered at 3 levels:
- Elementary (Equivalent to SCQF Level 3)
- Pre-Intermediate (B1) (Equivalent to SCQF Level 4)
- Intermediate (B2) (Equivalent to SCQF Level 5)
What you will experience
This intermediate level course will strengthen your reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in English relevant to every day, professional and academic contexts, ensuring you are confident and able in your communications.
In addition, you will develop a good understanding of important topics such as citizenship, employability, enterprise and the use of information technology.
All applicants should be literate in their first language. Prior to the course commencing, all applicants are tested and placed in classes according to their level of English.
Please note that if you require a study visa you must provide an English language evidence in the form of an SELT (Secure English Language Test) from an approved provider.

On completion of this course you could progress to study at NC, HNC or perhaps even HND level, where you can choose from a range of different subjects.
