Why take this course?
This course provides students with an industry recognised qualification, and the knowledge/skills necessary to work as a Complementary Therapist in a variety of contexts. Upon successful completion, learners may progress to further study in related fields.
What you will experience
You will learn advanced aspects of complementary therapies and related industries, and how to work effectively with colleagues and clients.
You will develop critical and evaluative thinking, self-direction and reflective practices, whilst gaining practical skills in body, aromatherapy and Indian head massage, reflexology, anatomy, physiology, clinical practice, health and safety, and stress management for clients.
You will learn in a realistic work environment, and identify excellent practice in promoting personal health and wellbeing. All skills will provide you with a range of opportunities due to enhanced career planning and employment prospects.
Applicants should have a minimum of 2 Highers (preferably English, Biology or Chemistry), units at SCQF Level 6 in appropriate subjects, an SVQ/NVQ at Level 3 in relevant subjects, a HNC/HND in Beauty Therapy, or occupationally relevant skills and experience.
A Foundation Apprenticeship in any subject area will be considered equivalent as one unrelated Higher for entry to this course.
