Entry requirements
The course is designed for pupils in their last year at school who have been working at National 2 or National 3 level, and those that may have had some extra support at school.
This course allows you to try out different options at College, which will help you to plan your future and help you to decide whether or not you might like to attend College full-time after leaving school. It also helps you to build key transferrable skills that will prove extremely useful when you progress towards further study or employment.
If the school has informed the College that you may need help in class or at break times, a College Learning Support Assistant (LSA) will be allocated. All workshop-based sessions have an LSA in the class.
You will meet your tutor on the first day of the course, and they will be happy to give you lots of advice and help you with any problems you might be having. Your tutor will check whether you are at College or not, and your school will be informed.
There is a wide range of subject choices available, which your school will go over with you and help you to choose. The College will try to make sure you get your favourite subjects as far as possible, but choices are delivered based on availability – therefore, not all courses can be delivered at both Centres. You will be given a schedule that will show you which rooms you are in, and College staff will help you to find key rooms when you start your course.
Students normally have a 15-20 minute break in the morning and in the afternoon. Students at Fraserburgh Campus also have a 1 hour lunch break.

This course is only available to pupils in S4 to S6 across Aberdeen City and Shire, giving pupils the opportunity to experience life as a College student whilst staying on at school.
