- No formal academic qualifications are required for this course.
This course will prepare you for progression onto the SVQ in Performing Engineering Operations (PEO) at SCQF Level 5, or employment in the engineering or manufacturing sector as an operative, apprentice or Modern Apprentice.
You will work mainly in an engineering workshop where you will learn about working safely and effectively whilst making products from a drawing.
The products will be made using a range of hand and power tools on an engineering bench and lathe.

You will be required to wear a boiler suit, steel toecap boots or shoes and safety glasses.

If you are studying a full-time non-advanced course (below HNC level), you may be entitled to funding.
