Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course although good communication skills are important.
This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to work in the kitchen and in front-of-house operations within catering/hospitality establishments. You will get an introduction to customer service, food hygiene and health & safety so you can apply this in practical activities. You will also learn how to prepare, cook and present food as well as the basics of serving food and drink to customers by running a hospitality event.

All students are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) clothing suitable for the area in which you will be working. You will be provided with a kit list when offered a place on the course.
Health and safety restrictions mean that no piercings/jewellery, nail polish or heavy makeup is permitted in the kitchen or service areas. All hair is to be tied back and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn at all times.
Whilst you are taking part in the course you will be required to:
Eating and drinking is not permitted in the workrooms or classrooms. Drinking water is available from water dispensers in the corridors within the College buildings.
