This course will help you to lay the foundations needed for a successful career in the sport, fitness and wellbeing industry.
Why take this course?
If you have a passion for sport, fitness and wellbeing then this course will help you to lay the foundations needed for a successful career in the industry. You will develop your theoretical knowledge and strengthen your practical skills through a mixture of different activities.
What you will experience
You will learn about nutrition, health and wellbeing in relation to physical activity. You will also look closely at important aspects of working in this industry including team work, health & safety and communication. Practical activities are wide–ranging, meaning you could be playing badminton or basketball one day and working on circuit or fixed weights training the next!
You will also complete a National Progression Award (NPA) in Exercise and Fitness in addition to the NC — an extra qualification to boost your CV and further prepare you for progression towards further study or work. This applies to both Aberdeen and Fraserburgh students, but is based in Aberdeen.
Applicants should have a minimum of three National 5, Intermediate 2 or Standard Grade General/Credit level qualifications. Appropriate life or work experience will also be considered as a suitable entry requirement.

You cannot progress directly to university from this course, but after completion of a HND that would become an option.
