Why take this course?

Autism is a condition which is as highly complex as it is common within our society. People who live with autistic spectrum conditions can be affected in many different ways with subtle differences present from case to case. There is no one particular type of autism with cases ranging from very mild to very severe.

This course is suitable for those looking to develop an understanding of autism, the principles of supporting individuals affected and gaining the skills required to ensure they can best live as independently as possible.

This course will be of great benefit if you are currently working, or are looking to work, with individuals who have an autistic spectrum condition.

What you will experience

Throughout this qualification you will gain an understanding of the spectrum used to assert the height of particular autistic conditions, as well as how they can affect people in a myriad of ways.

As well as exploring the importance of using a person–centred approach to provide support, you will also understand how to use appropriate communication skills and positive behaviour techniques which encourage individuals with autistic spectrum conditions to lead fulfilling and independent lives.

The course is split into manageable units, each which require to be successfully completed to achieve the qualification.

Studying via distance learning means you can choose when and where you study. Access to the course is provided online with a personal tutor allocated to provide relevant support.
