English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) for level B2 (Intermediate) and above
We offer part-time courses at a range of levels for those who wish to improve their English communication skills.
Options for part-time intermediate to advanced level ESOL study are listed below.
Courses
If you are already at B2 (Intermediate) level, and want to improve your skills, we offer courses at Intermediate, Upper-Intermediate and Advanced level. These are taught in a hybrid format, with classes held both on campus and online. Fully online options may also be available if there is enough demand. A test is required to determine your level before you book a place.
At the end of each course, participants will receive a college certificate based on their attendance and participation.
Location
Our hybrid courses are held at Aberdeen City Campus and online. We recommend using a PC or laptop for the online sessions, as it makes learning easier than using a smartphone. As a college student, you can also access IT facilities on campus during opening hours.
Course start dates
Our next programme of courses starts the week of 13th January 2025.
Each course is 40 hours long, with two 2-hour classes per week (4 hours of tuition per week).
Cost
The course costs £240 (only £6 per hour of tuition). This includes the cost of a textbook that you’ll use during the course.
How to book
First, you’ll need to take a test to find out your level of English. This test is done online through the Oxford Online Testing platform and costs £25.
Once you complete the test, we’ll check your results and let you know your level. You’ll also receive information on class options, such as days/times and start dates.
