Law, accountancy and business professions in the spotlight at NESCol open events
June 15, 2020
Prospective students will have the chance to find out more about opportunities in the business professions when North East Scotland College opens its virtual doors for the latest in a series of online open events.
The College will showcase the experiences of students and offer the chance to speak to subject experts from the lecturing team as well as hosting an application workshop.
The Focus On Business, which follows similar events based on the care professions and STEM subjects, begins today (15 June).
The online open session will take place from 3-5pm on Wednesday (17 June) and the application workshop from 10am to noon on Friday (19 June).
NESCol Principal Neil Cowie said: “Although our buildings are closed, the work of the College has continued at pace. We’re very conscious there are many prospective students who are facing important decisions about their future plans and we want to provide as much support and guidance as we can.
“The response to our first open event in May was excellent and that has given us the impetus to run weekly sessions throughout June. In a challenging economic climate, the value of training and education takes on great significance and we are ready to help drive the region’s recovery.
“The wide spectrum of business related courses we offer provide transferrable skills, including digital marketing, as well as qualifications in specialist areas such as legal services and accountancy. The career paths are well-established and provide confidence to applicants about the opportunities ahead.”
Applications are being accepted for 2020/21 courses starting in the new academic year and a full range of support services continue to be offered to existing students. Further advice for students and applicants is available at www.nescol.ac.uk or through the Student Advice Centre team by email at studentadvice@nescol.ac.uk .
