National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher provisional results
June 17, 2021
NESCol students enrolled on National 5, Higher or Advanced Higher courses will be issued with provisional results from tomorrow (18 June).
This is in line with the approach being taken at schools and follows the guidance from the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA), the awarding body for those courses.
All students studying for these qualifications will be emailed directly to be informed of their provisional grade.
Results are based on demonstrated attainment and on the evidence of knowledge and skills against the national standard.
The College has implemented robust processes to ensure the provisional grades allocated are aligned with SQA requirements. This includes an initial review to determine the assessment approach for each course and a review by Internal Quality Assurance panels of the grades awarded.
Gill Griffin, NESCol’s Director of Quality, said: “Lecturers have been keeping students informed as they have progressed through their course and anyone who wishes to discuss their provisional result will have the opportunity to do that. Information on the SQA appeals process will also be included when provisional results are issued.
“The College’s advice and support teams are also here to support students as they prepare for their next steps, whether continuing in education or preparing to enter the world of work.
“We know this has been an incredibly challenging year for school pupils and College students and appreciate the commitment they have shown to their studies at NESCol.”
