For more information:

North East Scotland College has a limited number of places still available on a course for those interested in building and maintaining computer networks.  CISCO is the industry leading Networking technologies standard. We are offering Semester 1 of 4 semesters that make up the CISCO CCNA Exploration certification. Semester 1 starts on 31 January 2017, with the subsequent semesters to follow.   All four semesters are 15 weeks long and offered as evening classes at the College where you will have access to the latest CISCO equipment and technologies. Please note the semesters must be studied in sequential order, therefore it is important to sign up soon to avoid waiting two years for the next opportunity.

CISCO Semester 1 (Routing & Switching) is the first step towards certification and provides students with the opportunity to develop key hands-on skills relating to CISCO CCNA Exploration. Certification is awarded by the CISCO Networking Academy upon successful completion.  This qualification is widely recognised by employers and would be beneficial to those seeking work in Technical Support and Networking.  By the end of this course, participants will be able to build LANs, perform configurations for CISCO routers and switches, and implement IP addressing schemes.

The Faculty Manager for Computing at North East Scotland College Cameron Walker said, “The aim of the CISCO programme is to provide students with industry standard skills and knowledge to design, build and maintain computer networks in a commercial environment.  It is useful for those looking to add a recognised industry qualification to their CV as well as those who want to develop their skills and knowledge to set up and maintain existing network.”
