Launch of North East Early Learning and Childcare Academy
Tuesday, 6 March 2018
Today marks the launch of the North East Early Learning and Childcare Academy. This ambitious new venture between Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeenshire Council, Moray Council, SDS Aberdeen City & Shire, University of Aberdeen and NESCol - along with a host of partners from private nurseries and schools - aims to build a skilled workforce for the future of the Early Learning and Childcare Industry.
Trish Swan, Faculty Manager for Care at North East Scotland College, said:
"As one of the key partners in the Early Learning and Childcare Academy (launched today at the Beach ballroom) we play a significant part in ensuring that work being carried out to deliver on the additional childcare hours outlined by the Scottish Government is at the centre of our Curriculum plans.
"Already extensive work has been carried out to create a ‘one stop shop’ to allow anyone interested in a career in Early Years the chance to quickly access information they need. It will help to show the flexible nature of training and education in this area as well as how to progress within the industry."
