Training to repair and maintain historical property

North East Scotland College is running a selection of traditional skills training courses throughout October and November.

These courses are open to anyone who is involved in maintaining and repairing historic property in the region – particularly property owners, contractors and apprentices. This training is fully funded as part of the Fraserburgh 2021 Heritage Regeneration Scheme, being delivered by Aberdeenshire Council, and is focused on restoring and enhancing Fraserburgh’s built heritage.

Two workshops are being offered – one in Sash and Case Windows and the other in Stone Masonry Repairs and Rendering. A Maintenance and Conservation Practice information evening is also being held for property and business owners which covers applying for funding grants, dealing with contractors and materials and work methods for restoration. 

Who can get involved?

The courses are available to contractors, apprentices, business owners in the north east.  The information evening is primarily aimed at business owners who want to find out more.
