Winner of Northsound competition announced

Lucky Hannah wins cash prize and iPad!

Northsound presenter with winner and prizes

Our latest competition ran via the Northsound website from October for four weeks, and involved a short personality quiz which revealed what kind of person the entrant was – creative, innovative, compassionate, hands-on, focussed, or professional – and what type of College course would suit them. The results were linked to our new prospectus. As well as the online quiz, street teams visited busy shopping Centres and Cineworld Cinemas on a Saturday. In total 1,200 entries were received!

Each week, one lucky winner was drawn, and they received a prize of £100. At the end of the competition, all finalists were asked to submit a personal statement with the brief:

Everyone is different. At North East Scotland College we celebrate diversity and recognise that our students come from all walks of life, each with their own unique skills and personalities.

We’d like you to write a short personal statement telling us about yourself, your education and what makes you, you! We are NESCol, who are you?

After we’d received all of the finalist’s submissions, a team of NESCol representatives selected an overall winner, which was announced live from the College’s Open Day on 11th November by Lauren Mitchell, presenter of Northsound’s Jeff and Lauren in the Morning

The overall winner was Hannah Fowler, a 25-year-old mum of two, who received £500 and an iPad! A huge congratulations to all.
