Schools

NESCol works in partnership Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Council to enhance school pupils’ learning experiences and understanding of their future pathways.

Schools-College courses

NESCol delivers a number of courses to pupils. These courses are chosen alongside in-school subjects and are delivered as part of their school timetables.

School Links Courses

These courses are offered at a variety of levels to pupils in S4 to S6. They are incorporated into school timetables, and give pupils the opportunity to experience life as a College student whilst staying on at school.

Foundation Apprenticeships

Foundation Apprenticeships are an exciting blend of college, school and work-based learning. They give young people an academic qualification, as well as hands-on learning and practical experience in the world of work.

School engagement

There are many ways we can work with schools to raise awareness about College pathways — either as a positive destination post-school, or as courses that are integrated into the school experience.

Some of this activity includes talks, tours, career event attendance, application workshops, College Roadshows, and more.

Supporting young people with their choices

Whether you’re a teacher or a parent/carer, we know there is a lot to take in when it comes to a young person’s options in education. We’ve pulled together some useful information to help you understand the choices for young people at North East Scotland College.

Information for Guidance Teachers

If you are supporting a young person applying for a College course, it is important that you have all the knowledge you need to support them through the application process.

Information for Parents and Carers

Senior School pupils have a huge range of options available when it comes to subject choices, further education, higher education employment and training. If you know a young person making decisions about their future, it’s helpful for you to know more about the pathways available to them.
