“I could never have imagined when I was studying back in Aberdeen that I would one day be working in the motorsport industry for Formula 1.”
David Ewing is from Aberdeen and studied at NESCol to achieve his HNC Mechanical Engineering. After working for various engineering companies in the North East as a CNC Machine Programmer/Designer, David left Scotland to work in Italy for an exciting career in Formula 1!
David said, “I moved to Italy and secured a job with the Scuderia Toro Rosso (known as Red Bull) in Faenza. I could never have imagined when I was studying back in Aberdeen that I would one day be working in the motorsport industry for Formula 1. It was an incredible experience.”
David worked as a CNC Machine Operator in the machine shop of the team factory a top class facility for motorsport manufacturing, for a year and a half before recently moving to Canada.
He is now living and working in Saskatoon, Canada working for an industrial machine and manufacturing company which serve the mining, agricultural and power industries in North America.
David said, “My engineering qualification has allowed me to travel the world and work within different industries, it’s been great.”
