“I I started with the intro course, am close to completing my Level 5 and next year I will be studying for my HNC – I’m so pleased with how far I have come.”
Dawn-Maree returned to education to pursue her interest in computing at NESCol’s Fraserburgh Campus – a subject she last studied at College almost 20 years ago.
Dawn-Maree says, “ I have realised that it is so important to have a job that you enjoy and that’s why I have gone back to College to pick up Computing again. I now have a young family and my hope is to eventually find work that is computing related, where I can have a career and be there for my family. College has given me the chance to do this.
“Coming back into education after a long period away was daunting but the College courses are designed to allow you to find your feet and then work your way up. I’ve found this moving from the Level 4 to Level 5 course – we deal with the same subject areas but in greater depth. Next year it’s the HNC!”
Despite the challenges of the pandemic, home schooling and online study Dawn-Maree is determined to do well and wants to set a good example for her children.
“The Level 4 and 5 courses are a great foundation for anyone who has an interest in computing. My confidence has grown – I put the work in and it seems to pay off.”
