James is in his final year at school and chose this part-time course to pursue his goal of obtaining a degree in audio engineering and working in the industry.
He said: “ I did Higher Music Technology at School and I am interested in the HND Sound Production Course at NESCol so I thought it would be helpful to do the part-time course. I thought it would be a good stepping stone to the full-time course.”
James describes his experience of the 12 week Sound Production School course.
“It’s a small class. There are just 5 of us and we all have different levels of experience. I would say that anyone who has a passion for music would gain lots from this course – you don’t need prior knowledge of the various techniques.
“It’s nothing too complicated and you have access to multiple digital access workstations, with choices of Logic pro or Ableton, so you can choose which ever one you like. There’s also of good studio space and different microphones. It’s a mix of group work and working by yourself with practical hands on demonstrations from the tutor. It’s really enjoyable.”
