Morgan Riddell

HND Administration & IT
“I think for someone like me who didn’t particularly enjoy school or achieve the exam results I wanted there, College was definitely the best option. It also prepared me for university life and set me up with the skills I needed for further study.”
Morgan Riddell came to NESCol after completing her fourth year at Kincorth Academy (now Lochside Academy) to study an NC in IT and Administration after doing some work experience in an admin setting. After successfully completing the NC, she progressed to study HND IT & Administration which then opened up the opportunity to go onto university.
Fast forward a couple of years and Morgan has just graduated with a BA Hons in Business Management with HRM from The Robert Gordon University and has secured employment in a business administration role for a local company. Morgan is a strong advocate of the College/university route and recently returned to College to be an inspirational speaker at a NESCol/RGU TwoPlus Alliance event which Lochside Academy children were attending.
Talking about her College experience Morgan said, “I found College very different to school as at academy I found it difficult trying to get a grasp of so many subjects. I wanted to focus my knowledge in a specific area and NESCol allowed me to do that. I had always hoped to go to university and again coming to College opened up that opportunity. As well as the subject specific knowledge I learned at NESCol, studying there developed my time management, interpersonal skills and the importance of applying myself to achieve the results I want. “
Morgan continued, “I think for someone like me who didn’t particularly enjoy school or achieve the exam results I wanted there, College was definitely the best option. It also prepared me for university life and set me up with the skills I needed for further study. I would absolutely recommend the degree link route to anyone who wants to achieve their full potential. “
