HND Technologies in Business
Shay’s HND has given him knowledge and skills that are vital for running a business today including cyber resilience, e-commerce solutions and social media and knows the course has given him a solid grounding in business operations, technology and project management which will serve him well for the continued success of their family business.
Shay (19) graduated with HND Technologies in Business and both he and his family are delighted with his achievements. Shay first came to NESCol to study on a non-advanced course in Digital Media and successfully completing the NC allowed him to progress through to the HND.
As he studied during the Covid-19 pandemic, Shay completed a good proportion of his learning online, aspects of which he enjoyed the benefits of, but was also grateful for his time on campus.
Shay’s family own the Parkhill Garden Centre in Dyce and one of the reasons he decided to study the Technologies in Business course was to help his father run the business. Shay said, “The business has been in my family since the seventies when my grandfather owned Allanvale Nurseries, eventually buying land at Parkhill and establishing the garden centre there. In 2008 we expanded with the addition of our Seasons Coffee Shop and more recently in 2021 through the acquisition of White Lodge Garden Centre in Turriff, now known as Parkhill at White Lodge. “
