Vince Groat

Vince Groat worked his way through the automotive courses at NESCol’s Altens Campus before finally completing his Diploma in Automotive Accident Repair & Principles (Body & Paint). He now runs his own business, Elite Paint & Body in Balmedie, Aberdeenshire.

“College gave me the start I needed in the automotive industry. The lecturers helped me get my apprenticeship and from there I built up my knowledge and experience between my time at work and in College. After working for different garages I decided I wanted to be my own boss. My business has been running for three years now and has gone from strength to strength. My relationship with the College continues through my apprentice Leon, who is completing his modern apprenticeship through NESCol. I’ve come full circle and have gone from student and apprentice to business owner and employer.”
