Students’ Association hosts birthday celebration
November 1, 2023
North East Scotland College is 10 today – and students and staff are being invited to join the birthday celebrations!
The NESCol Students’ Association will be sharing birthday cake and other giveaways across campuses this week.
There will be the chance to get involved at City Campus, at the SA base in the Dino’s area, from 11.30am to 1pm today (1 November) and at the Fraserburgh Campus Atrium and Altens Campus Engine Room from 11.30am to 1pm tomorrow (2 November).
Carrie Beaton, President of the NESCol Students’ Association, said: “College is about being part of a big family and it’s great to be able to celebrate this milestone together.
“There are lots of staff who have been part of NESCol since the very beginning in 2013 and even some students from that time who have returned to build their skills and gain new qualifications.
“The Students’ Association has played an important part in shaping the College that NESCol has become and we’re looking forward to continuing to give students a platform for the next 10 years and beyond.”
The association has gone from strength to strength since the College was formed and is exploring new opportunities in 2023/24.
Carrie added: “There are lots of ways for students to get involved and so much that they can be proud of.
“In the last year alone there have been fantastic initiatives, from the introduction of free Breakfast Club and Student Pantry across all campuses to the launch of the gender affirmation fund. Our students are making a real difference to the lives of others.”
The NESCol Students’ Association is run for students by students. To find out more about its work click here.
