“NESCol gave me the knowledge, skills, and most importantly, the self-belief to continue my studies at university.”
NESCol is the gateway to a world of opportunity and we are here to support you every step of the way, from university progression to exciting new careers
Your achievements at College open up a range of options when it is time to take that important next step.
Articulation arrangements with RGU, the University of Aberdeen and universities across Scotland mean you can progress to year two or year three of university on successful completion of your HND or, in some cases, HNC.
We work closely with partner universities to offer well established pathways and align courses to provide a smooth transition – with more than 50 pathways from NESCol to RGU alone!

NESCol provides the springboard to rewarding careers for the thousands of students who choose to move into the world of work each year following their time at College.
Courses allow progression to employment with a recognised qualification, relevant skills and experience.
A close relationship with employers in the region ensures our curriculum is developed to provide the knowledge and skills required by industry.
Our teams work with employers to share vacancies and the College hosts regular employability, enterprise and careers events to help students thrive in their chosen field.
A gap year is an opportunity to develop your personal skills and can be a positive and life-changing experience. It should be well planned and well thought out, structured and relevant to your future plans.
Ensure that you research your options, are aware of possible costs involved and seek advice on the suitability and reliability of the companies offering gap year opportunities. Click here for further information.
Whatever direction you choose to take, we would love to hear where your NESCol experience takes you.

“I love everything about NESCol! I’ve made good friends, get on well with my classmates and the lecturers are really nice. “
“I’ve really enjoyed my time at College. The facilities are excellent and it’s good to be able to use machinery and equipment that we don’t have access to onsite. The lecturers are great and because they’ve all come from industry they have a huge pool of knowledge. It’s really helpful to be able to talk through the work I’m doing in my day-to-day job with them. “
“I am dyslexic and suffer with my mental health so it was great to be assigned the same support tutor for three years. She was always available to talk to if I found myself in crises and I felt really well supported.”
“My lecturers were just fantastic, I cannot thank them enough for what they’ve taught me but also for how supported they made me feel. Their belief and encouragement of me as a singer songwriter has been invaluable and truly helped build my confidence to bring me to where I am today.”
“I’m very grateful to NESCol for all they have given me and being named SQA Award winner is the icing on the cake.”
