Why take this course?

This course introduces delegates to the basics and purpose of Microsoft Power BI, a platform that allows individuals and businesses to create and share business intelligence data.

You will learn how to easily analyse and visualise insights and apply your new knowledge and skills in hands-on exercises. You do not need to have any previous experience using Microsoft Power BI but a basic understanding of Microsoft Office 365 is recommended.

For those more familiar with Power BI, we also offer an intermediate level course.

Please note: Microsoft Power BI requires a separate license in addition to Microsoft Office. Learners will require this additional license to perform the exercises on their own computers.

What you will experience

This one-day course is exclusively available for online delivery via Microsoft Teams for up to ten attendees.

  • The Microsoft Power BI interface
  • The purpose of Microsoft Power BI for data analytics
  • The basics regarding capacities, workspaces, datasets, shared datasets, reports and dashboards
  • Data modelling and visualizations using different kinds of visuals like charts and tables
  • Filtering, cleaning and transforming data with services like Power Query
  • Aggregates and when to use them
  • Securing your data
  • Creating and sharing your first Power BI report
