Why take this course?

This course focuses on the safe operation of oxy-acetylene equipment. Delegates will learn the correct and safe way to perform some of the most common welding and brazing techniques.

The course also highlights the importance of oxy-acetylene safety equipment as well as health and safety in a workshop environment.

What you will experience

This one-day course can be delivered face-to-face at a NESCol campus or at a local business premises for up to four attendees.

You will learn about:

  • How to describe and demonstrate the multiple uses of oxy-acetylene welding and brazing
  • Oxy-acetylene safety equipment and workshop safety
  • Gas and gas cylinders, their types and flow rates
  • The cutting torch and the types and applications of the tips
  • Knowledge and maintenance of equipment
  • Techniques for setting-up and the cutting of metals
  • Closing down safely and correctly
