Entry requirements
You should have 120 credits at SCQF Level 7 and 120 credits at SCQF Level 8.
This course is aimed at lead practitioners/managers who have met the standard for childhood practice as part of the registration process with the SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council) or those aspiring to be lead practitioners/managers within the sector – although these are likely to be people who already have some experience at senior level.
This qualification is delivered over two years. The Year 1 course runs on Thursdays and the Year 2 course on Tuesdays.
The course will enable you to develop a professional knowledge and understanding, review your approach to your professional skills and abilities, and evaluate your professional values and professional commitment. You will cover key topics such as the health, wellbeing and fitness of children and young people, working with families, the development of children and equality, diversion and inclusion.

Your course may be free if you are not a full time student with NESCol and you are: in receipt of benefits; or care-experienced; or your household taxable income falls below defined levels.
