Why take this course?

This interactive course is designed to equip managers with the essential skills to lead effective teams, achieve organisational objectives and foster a productive work environment.

Through engaging activities and practical exercises, you will develop the tools and confidence to manage both people and projects successfully.

What you will experience

This two-day course can be delivered face-to-face at a NESCol campus or at a local business premises for three to twelve attendees.

You will learn about:

  • Effective communication and handling difficult conversations
  • Leadership styles and leading your team

Throughout the course, you will be asked to review and familiarize yourself with key HR policies that every manager should be well-versed in. Some of the policies you’ll explore include:

  • IT and Misuse Policy
  • Data Protection (GDPR)
  • Maternity and Paternity Leave
  • Staff Development and Training

  • Appraisal Forms (Sample)

Each participant will focus on one specific policy, but in larger group sessions, multiple policies will be reviewed, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
