AFCCT team up with NESCol to provide placements

Aberdeen FC Community Trust (AFCCT) are delighted to announce a student partnership with North East Scotland College (NESCol) to give students an opportunity to undertake a placement with AFCCT.
NESCol Students from the HN Sports Coaching with Development course will be given the opportunity to work within the football team at AFCCT. Giving the students a platform to put what they have learnt in college into practice. It will give them a chance to develop their life skills and gain invaluable experience for their future careers.
Zack Ellis, NESCol External Engagement Coordinator for Sport & Uniformed Services gave his insights on the partnership. He said:
“This growing partnership provides an exciting opportunity for students to get vital practical experience of coaching children across Aberdeen in a safe, professional, and fun football environment.
“The aim is to support the students in gaining the experience, knowledge, and qualifications to support future employment.
“The partnership will allow the students to deliver activities alongside qualified AFCCT coaches while supporting the ethos of AFCCT to provide a “first in class” football environment for the region.”
Kevin Stewart Business Development Executive also shared his thoughts commenting “It is great to be working with NESCol and provide placement opportunities to their students.
“The students will be able to get first hand coaching experience that will be invaluable for their course.
“It is a partnership that AFCCT hopes to grow and utilise for future employment opportunities.
“NESCol is the largest provider of vocational education and training within the Northeast. With 4 Campuses across Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire. With the view to give anyone who wants to get back into education an opportunity to do so.”
Scott Duncan, Football Development Team Lead, commented “We are looking forward to getting the students involved in our coaching activities, they will add value to the sessions we deliver and allow them to gain valuable experience.
“I hope this partnership with NESCol grows so we can give more students further opportunities.”
