The most common is mixed anxiety and depression, but there are so many other issues which have a huge impact on a person’s life and the people around them.
This qualification offers a comprehensive understanding of some common mental health problems, which is of vital importance for anyone who works around people suffering with these conditions.
The qualification is suitable for anyone who wishes to increase their knowledge of mental health problems, the factors that cause mental ill–health and the ways that mental health problems can be managed.
The course is also suitable for those who already work in this area, anyone who wants to secure a job linked to mental health and anyone who wants to gain more knowledge for personal reasons. This course is split into manageable units, each which require to be successfully completed to achieve the qualification.

As this course is provided online, students will require access to IT equipment and the internet to complete the course.
Your course may be free if you are not a full time student with NESCol and you are : in receipt of benefits; or care-experienced; or your household taxable income falls below defined levels.

If you take up a place on a College course, at the start of the course you will be asked to complete an enrolment form. In completing the form and/or taking up a place on a College course, you will enter into a contract with the College and be bound by the North East Scotland College Standard Terms and Conditions of Study.
