” I can see already that there are many more female seafarers around today and hopefully my experiences at the SMA gives encouragement to others!”
This course provides instruction on the use and operation of ECDIS through understanding the capabilities and limitations of the system.
Practical exercises using desktop simulators reinforce the theory and provide an opportunity to develop and practice responses to training scenarios.
The course meets the guidance of IMO Model Course 1.27, the operational use of ECDIS, for generic ECDIS training.
All Deck Officers who hold a Certificate of Competence issued in accordance with the 2010 Manila amendments should be trained in the use of ECDIS.
You can progress to equipment specific training – ECDIS Type Specific – Furuno.
