This popular, industry recognised qualification aims to provide leaners with the knowledge and skills to be able to:

  • Understand the anatomy and physiology required to be able to apply sports massage.
  • Carry out a range of assessments.
  • Collect information relating to the client’s current condition and status.
  • Distinguish between acute injury and soft tissue dysfunction.
  • Recognise when to defer treatment.
  • Provide sports massage therapy to a range of clients who have dysfunctional tissue, without acute/post-acute injuries or underlying pathological conditions.

During the course you will be expected to work with number of clients, undertaking a range of assessments, a client consultation, sports massage and post-treatment advice.

What you will experience

During this course, you will learn how to meet and greet clients, explore and conduct thorough assessments of clients, identifying their specific needs and developing appropriate treatment plans.

You will gain a deep understanding of the anatomy and physiology to be able to apply correct and effective treatment plans.

Completing the course will give you the confidence to apply your skills effectively and competently in real-world situation.

The course is offered in person, one evening per week. You will be expected to undertake at least 10 hours of self study a week (at location of your choice) and to complete worksheets and revision time.
