This programme is for those who wish to learn the basic skills for barbering. It will introduce you to basic barbering skills, using clippers and scissor work. Learners will perform a variety of different styles, learn new techniques, using the most up to date equipment and products.
Excellent attendance and successful completion may lead to enrolment on one of our full time barbering courses.

Please wear appropriate clothing – preferably all black and closed toe flat black shoes.
Your course may be free if you are not a full time student with NESCol and you are: in receipt of benefits; or care-experienced; or your household taxable income falls below defined levels.

On successful completion of this course, you may want to consider further study or hairdressing on a full-time or part-time course, such as
Level 1 Certificate in Hairdressing (Broadly compared to SCQF Level 4) or Level 2 Diploma for Hairdressing (Broadly compared to SCQF Level 5) or SVQ Level 2 Barbering (Broadly compared to SCQF Level 5).
Upon successful completion of this course you may be able to secure employment in a salon, where you will be able to perform basic barbering techniques.
