There are no formal entry requirements for this course however a basic manicure qualification is desirable..
Why take this course?
This course will introduce you to experience the basic knowledge and skills to further develop your own abilities. You will learn the skills to prepare for and provide gel polish treatments to clients, under supervision.
You will learn how to correctly apply and remove gel polish.
Excellent attendance and successful completion may lead to enrolment on one of our full time beauty therapy courses and further advanced part time courses.

- Demonstrations for a range of techniques
- Develop confidence and skills
- Establish an understanding for the correct application and safe removal for gel polish services
- Knowledge and understanding for gel polish trouble shooting

Course Requirements
Please wear appropriate clothing – preferably all black and closed toe flat black shoes.
You will need a willingness to learn and participate in group activities.
Fee Waiver (Remission of Fees)
Your course may be free if you are not a full time student with NESCol and you are : in receipt of benefits; or care-experienced; or your household taxable income falls below defined levels.

Education at NESCol
You may progress to more advanced part time courses or Level 2 Diploma for Beauty Therapy (broadly comparable to SCQF Level 5).
