Dennis Gordon Electrical supports renewables training with equipment donation

Electrical engineering students at Fraserburgh Campus will benefit from a generous donation by local business, Dennis Gordon Electrical.

The company provided the College with 24 SolaX PV Inverters which will be used as part of the Performing Engineering Operations (PEO) Electrical course delivered at Fraserburgh Campus.

The SolaX PV Inverter converts electricity generated by solar panels into usable power for homes and businesses, supplying electrical systems such as lighting and appliances.

Access to industry-standard technology will give students the opportunity to gain valuable practical experience and build their confidence working with photovoltaic (PV) systems.

The donation will also broaden their understanding of how renewable energy technologies are integrated into modern electrical installations, preparing them for careers in the evolving energy sector.

Graeme Gordon, Electrical Director, Dennis Gordon Electrical, said:

“Having spoken to David Blackhall at Fraserburgh Campus, it was inspiring to hear how positive the team is about working together to strengthen teaching, learning, and progression opportunities for students entering the electrical industry.

“We often employ students that have been on the PEO Electrical course and start them on the Scottish Electrical Charitable Training Trust (SECTT) scheme. Their industry-standard workshops and facilities provide students with an outstanding learning environment that reflects the realities of the workplace.

“I look forward to continuing our collaboration with North East Scotland College Fraserburgh Campus as we help develop the next generation of skilled electrical professionals.”
